I'm a serial entrepreneur at heart. Having started and sold or closed 8 businesses, not including S.G. Design Studio, I have a strong grasp of the challenges that face a small startup company. I've had fun with every business, but some were more successful than others. The longest lasting was NeoTek Computer Systems, a small tech company that did everything. It lasted nearly 13 years. The shortest lived was Dragon's Lair, a comic book store. I learned a lot in just 9 months, including some things not to do with a startup.
Currently I spend the bulk of my time designing jewelry for Images Jewelers in Elkhart, IN. I love the work, but even more I love know tht what I do truly affects people's lives in a very positive way. There is nothing better than handing a bride to be the ring of her dreams and having her break down and cry with joy.
Jewelry design isn't all I do these days though. I also help friends with their websites, and Search Engine Optimization has become something of an obsesive hobby of mine. It has gotten to the point that I am looking at starting company #10 in the near future to help people with great products become better at marketing them online. But that's all hush hush right now, so don't tell anyone.
